Matthew 5:24

Matthew 5:24
5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. (KJV)

Here in Matthew 5:24 Yeshua speaks of making reconciliation to a brother before bringing a sacrifice to the Lord. According to Leviticus 19:17-18 we are told not to hate a brother in our heart and not bear sin in our heart towards him. Yeshua is teaching us from the Torah to avoid hatred, to forgive and to love not seeking vengeance or keeping grudges. We are to brace forgiveness and reconciliation. Yeshua is explaining the Torah to us how these things affect our relationship with our Father in heaven. And rightly so, leave your sacrifice and make reconciliation first because this is obedience to the Torah and pleasing to God. The Torah has not passed away!
