Bits of Torah Truths – The Disciples Celebrated Shavuot (Pentecost) – Episode 39

Acts 2:1
ב בְּיוֹם מְלֹאת שִׁבְעַת הַשָּׁבוּעוֹת הָיוּ כֻּלָּם יַחְדָּיו.

Acts 2:1
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (KJV)

The festival of Shavuot celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and encourages us to embrace the Torah’s teachings and covenant with God. Shavuot literally means the “Feast of Weeks” and is one of the three pilgrimage festivals. It is celebrated seven weeks after Passover. Here in Acts 2 the disciples celebrated Shavuot (Pentecost), obeying the Torah command to do so following the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah.
