Bits of Torah Truths – The Author of Hebrews always Referring to the Torah – Episode 143

Hebrews 2:13

Hebrews 2:13
2:13 And again, “I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM.” And again, “BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.” (NASB)

2 Samuel 22:3
22:3 My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; My savior, You save me from violence. (NASB)

Isaiah 8:17–18 8:17 And I will wait for the LORD who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him. 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion. (NASB) Here in Hebrews 2:13 the author of Hebrews quotes from 2 Samuel 22:3 and Isaiah 8:17-18 using a Torah central principle of the Lord God who is our God, our Rock, our Shield, and our Savior, and who is a refuge. These are the reasons the author of Hebrews writes “I will put my trust in Him,” because He (God) is worthy to be praised!
