1 Peter 3:14

1 Peter 3:14
3:14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED, (NASB)

Isaiah 8:12
8:12 “You are not to say, ‘It is a conspiracy!’ In regard to all that this people call a conspiracy, And you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. (NASB)

Here, 1 Peter 3:14 speaks of suffering for the sake of righteousness. Peter quotes from Isaiah 8:12 to emphasize that we should not fear our circumstances. Both the Torah and rabbinic teachings emphasize the value of righteousness that leads to suffering, take Joseph as an example. Because of these things we can find peace knowing that our suffering for righteousness aligns with God’s plan for us and for the greater purpose of serving and glorifying God in heaven. These things again demonstrate how the Torah has not passed away.
