Having Genuine Faith

909

While reading this weeks Parsha and the portion from the Ketuvei Shelachim (Apostolic Writings) it appears that the Apostle Paul had these two Parshiot in mind while he was speaking to the people at Rome in Romans chapter 10.  This week’s is a double portion, Parshiot Nitzavim and Vayeilech.  The Parshiot (Devarim / Deuteronomy 29:10-31:30) coupled with the portion of Scripture from Romans 10:1-18 indicates that genuine faith and reliance upon God by faith in Yeshua the Messiah is an absolute requirement for slavation.  Observing the Torah by keeping the mitzvot apart from faith in Yeshua is a dead faith, the kind of faith Paul is addressing in Romans chapter 10, by not believing in Yeshua as the sacrificial lamb of God who provides us with His righteousness, one is having a form of righteousness of one’s own making.  The reason being is that it is not the absence of good works that condemns a person to everlasting fire; it is the absence of genuine faith.  Unless our faith comes alive through Yeshua by the indwelling of God’s Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit), one does not obtain salvation by God… Parashat Nitzavim-Vayelech _2010-2011_
