The concept of not fearing a lack of provisions, as taught by Yeshua in the NT (Matt. 6:25-34; Mark 6:8-9; Luke 9:3; 12:22-34), finds several parallels in the Torah. Consider the Manna in the Wilderness according to In Exodus 16, the Israelites express concern about their lack of food in the desert. God provides them with manna from heaven, instructing them to gather only what they need for each day, teaching them to trust in His daily provision. This story parallels Yeshua’s teaching in Matthew 6:25-34, where He urges His followers not to worry about their food or clothing, but to trust in God’s provision. The Water from the Rock in Exodus 17:1-7, speaks also to the fear of dying in the wilderness. God instructs Moses to strike a rock at Horeb, from which water miraculously flows. This act demonstrated God’s faithfulness to provide for their needs, even in seemingly impossible situations. These Torah accounts emphasize God’s continual provision and faithfulness to His people, encouraging us to trust Him rather than fear a lack of resources. This trust is echoed in NT. Note this is how Yeshua taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
