Hebrews 6:12

Hebrews 6:12
6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (KJV)

Here in Hebrews 6:12 the author encourages followers to be faithful and patient, inheriting the promises through faith and patience. It is important to note the Torah does emphasize the importance of faithfulness and patience in several instances. For example, in the book of Genesis, Abraham’s faithfulness and patience are highlighted when God promises him descendants as numerous as the stars. Despite his old age and initial lack of children, Abraham remains faithful to God’s promise, demonstrating patience and steadfastness. In Exodus, the Israelites are required to demonstrate faith and patience during their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. Despite the challenges they face, they are encouraged to remain faithful and trust in God’s promises. These examples share the common theme of faithfulness and patience in the face of adversity and waiting for the fulfillment of God’s promises. These things demonstrate that the Torah has not passed away!
