Bits of Torah Truths – Torah Based Concepts on Angels – Episode 137

Hebrews 1:7

Hebrews 1:7
7 And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels winds, And His ministers a flame of fire.” (NASB) Psalm 104:4 4 Who maketh his angels spirits; His ministers a flaming fire: (KJV)

Here the author of Hebrews 1:7 quotes Psalms 104:4 and teaches a Torah concept on angels. We note how the Torah describes angels as being associated with fire. For example, in Deuteronomy 33:2, it is written that “The Lord came from Sinai and dawned over them from Seir; he shone forth from Mount Paran. He came with myriads of holy ones from the south, from his mountain slopes.” The phrase “myriads of holy ones” is often interpreted as a reference to angels, and the description of God shining forth from Mount Paran with these holy ones suggests that angels are associated with light and fire.
