Romans 16:17

Romans 16:17
16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (KJV)

Paul according to Romans 16:17 teaches a Torah concept about Trouble makers. We note that the Torah provides guidance on various aspects of social conduct, including dealing with individuals who may cause trouble or discord within the community. This is found in he principles of justice, peace, and communal responsibility which are emphasized throughout the Torah. For example, in Exodus 18:21-22, Jethro advises Moses to appoint judges who will help him govern the people and deal with disputes fairly. This system of judges was established to handle conflicts and maintain order, suggesting a method for dealing with issues that could arise from troublesome behavior. Additionally, Leviticus 19:17 instructs, “You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.” This verse indicates the importance of addressing issues directly and honestly to resolve conflicts. While these examples provide a framework for addressing conflicts and troublesome behavior, the specifics of how to deal with such situations can vary widely and often require the application of these principles to the context at hand. We note again how the Torah has not passed away.
