Colossians 3:16
3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. (NASB)

The Torah contains themes that parallel the idea of “letting the Word dwell within you,” as seen in Colossians 3:16. The Torah emphasizes internalizing God’s teachings and making them a guiding force in daily life. Parallel passages include, Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…” This passage highlights the importance of keeping God’s Word within and passing it down. Exodus 25:8 “Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.” Some interpretations suggest that God’s presence is meant to dwell “within” His people, not just in a physical space (see 1 Corinthians 3). Deuteronomy 30:14 “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.” This verse directly supports the idea that God’s Word is meant to be internalized and lived out. We note how these verses emphasize that Torah study is not just an intellectual exercise but a way of “bringing God’s wisdom into one’s heart and actions.” This is how the NT and Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
