Paul states “Let The mind of Christ be in you” according to Philippians 2:5 which aligns closely with the Torah. For example, the Torah emphasizes the importance of aligning one’s thoughts and actions with God’s will, which parallels the NT concept of having the “mind of Christ” in Philippians 2:5. Here are some key Torah passages that reflect this idea: Deuteronomy 6:4-5 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” This passage highlights the call to fully dedicate one’s mind and heart to God. Genesis 22:8 Abraham’s faith and obedience demonstrate a mindset of trust in God’s plan, foreshadowing the selfless humility seen in Christ. And Exodus 19:5-6 God calls Israel to be a “kingdom of priests and a holy nation,” emphasizing the transformation of the mind and heart to reflect divine holiness. Proverbs 4:23 states “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” This aligns with the idea that one’s thoughts shape actions, much like Paul’s exhortation in Philippians. Note again this is how Paul and the NT text teaches Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
