Paul writes saying “Let No one deceive you about the day of Mashiakh / Christ being at hand” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). The idea of not being deceived about divine events has strong parallels in the Torah. One key example is Deuteronomy 13:1-3, which warns against false prophets who might lead people astray. This aligns with 2 Thessalonians 2:3, which cautions believers against deception regarding the timing of the Messiah’s return. Another relevant passage is Exodus 32, where the people of Israel were misled into worshiping the golden calf while waiting for Moses to return from Mount Sinai. This also reflects the danger of being deceived about divine timing and truth. Additionally, the concept of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is deeply connected to the Torah, as the Torah represents a way of life for God’s people, we are not called to be lawless, but a holy and righteous people. It could be said then that rejecting Torah leads to spiritual deception, because the Torah functions as a foundation stone. This is how Paul and the NT text taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
