Paul wrote “Let No man despise youth” according to 1 Timothy 4:12. The Torah emphasizes the value of youth and the importance of their role in spiritual leadership. One strong parallel is Genesis 37, where Joseph, though young, receives prophetic dreams that foretell his future leadership. Despite his brothers’ initial rejection, his youth does not diminish his divine calling. Another example is Exodus 33:11, which describes Joshua as a young assistant to Moses, showing that youth can be entrusted with great responsibility in God’s plan. Additionally, Deuteronomy 31:7-8 records Moses encouraging Joshua before leading Israel, reinforcing the idea that youth should not be despised but rather supported and empowered. This is how Paul and the NT text taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
