Ephesians 5:22
5:22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. (NASB)
Ephesians 5:24
5:24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. (NASB)
Colossians 3:18
3:18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. (NASB)
1 Peter 3:1–6
3:1 In the same way, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands so that even if any of them are disobedient to the word, they may be won without a word by the behavior of their wives, 3:2 as they observe your chaste and respectful behavior. 3:3 Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 3:4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. 3:5 For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; 3:6 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear. (NASB)

The Torah contains passages that parallel the concept of husbands loving their wives, as emphasized in Ephesians 5:22-24, Colossians 3:18, and 1 Peter 3:1-6. One key passage is Genesis 2:24, which states: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” This verse highlights the deep bond between husband and wife, implying love, commitment, and unity. Another relevant passage is Deuteronomy 24:5, which says: “When a man is newly married, he shall not go out with the army or be liable for any other public duty. He shall be free at home one year to be happy with his wife whom he has taken.” This law ensures that a husband prioritizes his relationship with his wife, fostering love and companionship. In addition, Exodus 21:10 commands that a husband must provide for his wife’s food, clothing, and marital rights, reinforcing the idea that love is expressed through care and provision. Note how the Torah presents marriage as a covenant built on love, responsibility, and mutual respect—principles that align with the New Testament teachings on husbands loving their wives. This is how Paul and the NT text taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
