Mark 6:13
גַּם גֵּרְשׁוּ שֵׁדִים רַבִּים וּמָשְׁחוּ בַּשֶּׁמֶן חוֹלִים רַבִּים וְרִפּאוּ אוֹתָם.

Mark 6:13
6:13 And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them. (NASB)

James 5:14–15
5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. There are conceptual echoes and precedents in the Torah that resonate with the command that we find in James 5:14–15 and Mark 6:13. For example, not the Priestly Intercession for the Sick (Leviticus 13–14). Here the priests (kohanim) were responsible for diagnosing and ritually cleansing those with skin diseases (e.g., tzara’at) we note how this shows spiritual leaders mediating healing and restoration. Anointing with Oil for Consecration (Exodus 30:22–33) here the anointing in oil symbolism of oil as a conduit of holiness and divine favor that connects it to these NT scriptures. We also read in Numbers 12:13 how Miriam was struck with tzara’at, Moses cried out: “O God, please heal her!” This is a clear example of a spiritual leader interceding for healing. We also note how Healing comes Through Obedience and Divine Mercy (Exodus 15:26) God promises healing to His people if they obey His commandments: “I am the Lord who heals you.” Healing is framed as a covenantal blessing, not mediated through ritual anointing. Note this is how James and the NT taugh Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
