Paul commands in the NT “Let All things be done in love” (1 Cor. 16:14) We note how the Torah emphasizes love as a foundational principle in many ways. One of the most direct parallels is Leviticus 19:18, which says: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This commandment is central to ethical living and is echoed throughout the NT, including in 1 Corinthians 16:14. Another strong connection is the Shema according to Deuteronomy 6:5, which instructs: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” This verse highlights the idea that love should be the driving force behind all actions—whether toward God or others. In addition to this, the Torah teaches kindness and compassion in daily life, such as in Exodus 23:4-5, which commands helping even an enemy’s lost animal. These principles align with the idea that everything should be done in love. This is how Paul and the NT text taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!
