Bits of Torah Truths – How Does Love Fulfill the Torah? – Episode 75

Romans 13:10
 י הָאַהֲבָה אֵינָהּ גּוֹרֶמֶת רָעָה לַזּוּלַת, לָכֵן הָאַהֲבָה הִיא קִיּוּם הַתּוֹרָה בִּמְלוֹאָהּ.

Romans 13:10
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; love therefore is the fulfillment of the law. (NASB)

The question is how does love fulfill the Torah? Paul provides his argument in Romans 13:8-10 for why love fulfills the Torah. These passages emphasize that loving others is the essence of fulfilling the law. It teaches that by showing love and kindness to one another, we are living in accordance with God’s commandments. This is why Paul can say in Romans 13:10 that Love fulfills the Torah. Note also that Love doesn’t do away with the Torah but is in fact constantly keeping the Torah commands!
