In this week\u2019s study from Tehillim \/ Psalms 129:1-8<\/span><\/em>, the psalm opens saying, \u05d0 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d4\u05b7\u05de\u05bc\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05ea \u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05de\u05b4\u05e0\u05bc\u05b0\u05e2\u05d5\u05bc\u05e8\u05b8\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b9\u05d0\u05de\u05b7\u05e8-\u05e0\u05b8\u05d0 \u05d9\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc: \u05d1 \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05ea \u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05de\u05b4\u05e0\u05bc\u05b0\u05e2\u05d5\u05bc\u05e8\u05b8\u05d9 \u05d2\u05bc\u05b7\u05dd \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05d9\u05b8\u05db\u05b0\u05dc\u05d5\u05bc-\u05dc\u05b4\u05d9: 129:1 \u2018Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up,\u2019 Let Israel now say, 129:2 \u2018Many times they have persecuted me from my youth up; Yet they have not prevailed against me. (NASB)<\/span><\/em> In life, as the children of God, we will see persecution. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, \u201cIndeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.\u201d<\/span><\/em> (2 Timothy 3:12<\/span><\/em>) The psalmist continues saying, \u05d2 \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05d2\u05bc\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d7\u05b8\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05bc \u05d7\u05b9\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d4\u05b6\u05d0\u05b1\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05db\u05d5\u05bc \u05dc\u05b0\u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d5\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd [\u05dc\u05b0\u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd]: \u05d3 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e6\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e7 \u05e7\u05b4\u05e6\u05bc\u05b5\u05e5 \u05e2\u05b2\u05d1\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05e2\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd: 129:3 \u2018The plowers plowed upon my back; They lengthened their furrows.\u2019 129:4 The Lord is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked. (NASB)<\/span><\/em> Yeshua the Messiah said, \u201cBlessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness\u2019 sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.\u201d<\/span><\/em> (Matthew 5:10<\/span><\/em>). Yeshua defines \u201cpersecution\u201d<\/span><\/em> as being reviled and having false things uttered against us. This is similar to what the psalmist is saying, but the Lord God turns the persecution into a future expectation of a blessing.
