Of David <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">124:1 \u2018Had it not been the Lord who was on our side,\u2019 Let Israel now say, (NASB)<\/span><\/em> The psalmist asks the question, had the Lord not been on our side, to get us thinking about what life would be without the Lord. The Psalm continues saying, \u05d1 \u05dc\u05d5\u05bc\u05dc\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05d4\u05b8\u05d9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b8\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e7\u05d5\u05bc\u05dd \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b5\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d0\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05dd: \u05d2 \u05d0\u05b2\u05d6\u05b7\u05d9 \u05d7\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05dc\u05b8\u05e2\u05d5\u05bc\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05e8\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05d0\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05dd \u05d1\u05bc\u05b8\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc: <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">124:2 \u2018Had it not been the Lord who was on our side When men rose up against us, 124:3 Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their anger was kindled against us; (NASB)<\/span><\/em> The concept being put forward here is that Evil men do not understand justice, and for such persons, the fellow man is in danger of being consumed in the flames of one\u2019s sin.
