(NASB)<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 The giving of thanks is connected to those who were redeemed from the hand of the adversary.\u00a0 Who is the psalmist speaking of in regards to the adversary?\u00a0 The Psalm continues saying, <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">107:4 They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city. 107:5 They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them. 107:6 Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses. (NASB)<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 The Lord hears the cry of the distressed.\u00a0 Note how the people cried out to the Lord and not to another kingdom for help.\u00a0 The psalmist states, <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">107:7 He led them also by a straight way, To go to an inhabited city. 107:8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!\u00a0 Notice how the Lord leads His people on the straight path and not on a winding difficult path.<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 This is what Moshe said what he did in <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Devarim \/ Deuteronomy 30:11-12<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0 The Word of God satisfies (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">107:9-10<\/span><\/em>) and delivers one from misery and death.
