(NASB)<\/span><\/em>\u00a0 He seeks the Lord to hear his prayer because he seeks a speedy answer due to the pressure of the enemy.\u00a0 David says that his heart is in anguish (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:4<\/span><\/em>), he has been put in fear because of the enemy (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:5<\/span><\/em>), he wishes that he had wings to fly away and be at rest (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:6<\/span><\/em>), so that he could goto the wilderness (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:7<\/span><\/em>) to be at rest.\u00a0 He asks the Lord to confuse the tongue of the wicked drawing a parallel to the Torah and Migdal Bavel (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:9<\/span><\/em>).\u00a0 He says that day and night mischief is in their midst (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:10<\/span><\/em>) which might be paralleled to the Lord being in the midst of the righteous.\u00a0 David says that it is not an enemy who reproaches him (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:12<\/span><\/em>), who is it that is causing him such anguish?\u00a0 He appears to be speaking to someone who is an equal to himself (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:13<\/span><\/em>), someone who walked in the house of God with him (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:14<\/span><\/em>).\u00a0 There appears to be a certain level of deceit in this person, David calls for death and the grave (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:15<\/span><\/em>), whereupon he will call upon the Lord God Almighty to save (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:16<\/span><\/em>).\u00a0 David speaks of continually coming before the Lord to make his petition known (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:17<\/span><\/em>) and believes the Lord will redeem his soul (<em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">55:18<\/span><\/em>).
