A Psalm of David. 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me and heard my cry. (NASB)<\/span><\/em> David says that he waited patiently for the Lord and he listened to his cry for help. \u00a0The Lord\u2019s help resulted in the following: \u05d2 \u00a0 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05dc\u05b5\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 | \u05de\u05b4\u05d1\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05d0\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05de\u05b4\u05d8\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05d8 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b8\u05d5\u05b5\u05df \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b8\u05e7\u05b6\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05e1\u05b6\u05dc\u05b7\u05e2 \u05e8\u05b7\u05d2\u05b0\u05dc\u05b7\u05d9 \u05db\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05b5\u05df \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05bb\u05e8\u05b8\u05d9: \u05d3 \u00a0 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b4\u05ea\u05bc\u05b5\u05df \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e4\u05b4\u05d9 | \u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8 \u05d7\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1 \u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05d4\u05b4\u05dc\u05bc\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b5\u05d0\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b5\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d9\u05b4\u05e8\u05b0\u05d0\u05d5\u05bc \u05e8\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d5\u05b0\u05d9\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d5\u05b0\u05d9\u05b4\u05d1\u05b0\u05d8\u05b0\u05d7\u05d5\u05bc \u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4: <em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">40:2 He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. \u00a040:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the Lord. (NASB) \u00a0He established David on a solid foundation, he made his steps firm, the Septuagint states that the Lord put in order his steps. \u00a0The Lord\u2019s work in his life causes him to say, 40:4 How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. \u00a040:5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count. (NASB)<\/span><\/em> \u00a0David says \u05d6 \u00a0 \u05d6\u05b6\u05d1\u05b7\u05d7 \u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05e0\u05b0\u05d7\u05b8\u05d4 | \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0-\u05d7\u05b8\u05e4\u05b7\u05e6\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b8 \u05d0\u05b8\u05d6\u05b0\u05e0\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05ea\u05b8 \u05dc\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05e2\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05d8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05dc\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b8: \u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>40:6 Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired; My ears You have opened; Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required. (NASB)<\/em><\/span> \u00a0This draws a parallel to Samuel the prophet\u2019s words in 1 Samuel 15:22.
