The Torah repeatedly commands Israel\u2019s leaders and people to uphold justice without partiality, whether dealing with rich or poor, native or stranger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8211; Torah parallels &#8211; <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deuteronomy 1:16\u201317 \u2013 Judges must hear cases fairly, show no partiality, and fear no man. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deuteronomy 16:18\u201320 \u2013 Israel\u2019s judges must pursue justice without distortion, bribery, or favoritism. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leviticus 19:15 \u2013 Israel must not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but judge righteously. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exodus 23:2\u20133 \u2013 Israel must not follow a crowd to pervert justice nor show partiality to the poor in a dispute. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Numbers 15:15\u201316 \u2013 The same law applies to both native-born Israelites and sojourners, showing equality before YHWH. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deuteronomy 10:17\u201319 \u2013 YHWH Himself shows no partiality and commands Israel to imitate His character by caring for the vulnerable. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8211; Context Synthesis &#8211; <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Paul\u2019s exhortation in 1 Timothy 5:21 reflects the Torah\u2019s foundational principle that justice and righteousness must be administered without favoritism. In the Torah, impartiality is rooted in YHWH\u2019s own character: He does not show partiality, nor does He accept bribes, and His people are commanded to reflect this divine standard. Paul applies this same principle to the community shaped by Yeshua, urging leaders to act without bias when dealing with accusations, discipline, or honor within the congregation. The Torah\u2019s insistence on equal treatment for all, rich or poor, native or stranger, provides the ethical framework behind Paul\u2019s instruction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&#8211; Core Insight &#8211; <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Torah teaches that impartiality is essential to righteousness because it reflects YHWH\u2019s own nature.
