(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ \">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Torah contains clear foundations for Paul\u2019s command in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cstand fast and hold to the traditions you were taught.\u201d<\/em><\/span> In Torah language, this is the call to hold firmly to the commandments, statutes, and covenant-teachings that God gave through Moses, without adding to them, subtracting from them, or drifting from them.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>&#8211; Torah Parallels to Holding fast to what was taught &#8211;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Deuteronomy repeatedly commands Israel to cling to the teachings they received. Deuteronomy 4:1, 5, 9, 10.<\/li>\n<li>Do not turn aside from what was handed down. The Torah emphasizes unwavering loyalty to the received teachings. Deuteronomy 5:32, 17:19\u201320, 28:14.<\/li>\n<li>Do not add to or subtract from the received tradition. This is the clearest parallel to Paul\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201chold to the traditions.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Deuteronomy 4:2, 12:32.<\/li>\n<li>Remember and guard the teaching. The Torah uses the language of guarding, keeping, and remembering. Exodus 19:5, Deuteronomy 6:17, 11:22.<\/li>\n<li>Teach the tradition to the next generation. Torah emphasizes that the received instruction must be transmitted unchanged. Deuteronomy 6:7, 11:19.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>&#8211; Context Synthesis &#8211;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Stand fast Deut 5:32; 17:19\u201320; 28:14 Do not turn aside from the covenant.<\/li>\n<li>Hold to the traditions Deut 4:1, 4:5, 4:9\u201310 Keep the teachings handed down.<\/li>\n<li>Do not alter the teaching Deut 4:2; 12:32 Preserve the received instruction.<\/li>\n<li>Guard the teaching Exod 19:5; Deut 6:17; 11:22 Keep and protect the covenant words.<\/li>\n<li>Transmit the teaching Deut 6:7; 11:19 Pass on the received tradition faithfully.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>&#8211; Core Insight &#8211;<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Paul\u2019s command in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 is rooted in the Torah\u2019s covenant pattern: Receive the authoritative teaching, Guard it, Do not alter it, Stand firm in it, Pass it on unchanged. Paul applies this same Torah pattern to the apostolic teaching about Messiah.
