It is a Torah-rooted concept, even though the exact phrase doesn\u2019t appear in the Five Books of Moses. Paul is drawing from Torah categories of hope, deliverance, covenant protection, and God as Israel\u2019s saving shield and he reframes them using his <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201carmor\u201d<\/em><\/span> metaphor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; TORAH PARALLELS TO <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cPUT ON THE HOPE OF SALVATION\u201d<\/span> &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>TORAH\u2019S CORE IDEA: GOD IS THE SAVIOR AND PROTECTOR Genesis 15:1 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cDo not fear, Abram\u2026 I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>SALVATION IN THE TORAH = DELIVERANCE FROM DEATH, ENEMIES, AND CHAOS Exodus 14:13 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cStand still and see the salvation of the LORD.\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>TORAH\u2019S HOPE IS ALWAYS FUTURE\u2011ORIENTED Deuteronomy 1:30 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cThe LORD your God\u2026 will fight for you.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Deuteronomy 20:1\u20134 God goes with Israel <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cto save you.\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>THE TORAH\u2019S COVENANT PROMISES ARE THE FOUNDATION OF HOPE Deuteronomy 30:1\u20136 God will: restore, gather, circumcise hearts, and bring life.
