(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ What \">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ What <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul calls <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cthe whole armor of God\u201d<\/em><\/span> in Ephesians 6:11,13 is not a new idea. It is a direct development of priestly, covenantal, and warfare imagery already embedded in the Torah. The Torah doesn\u2019t use the phrase <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201carmor,\u201d<\/em><\/span> but it does describe a divinely\u2011designed set of garments, symbols, and covenant practices that function exactly like spiritual armor: they protect, consecrate, empower, and identify God\u2019s people for holy battle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Torah Parallels to the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cWhole Armor of God\u201d<\/span> &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The High Priest\u2019s Garments = Prototype of the Armor of God: Paul\u2019s list (belt, breastplate, shoes, shield, helmet, sword) mirrors the Exodus 28 priestly garments, which were designed by God, For holiness, For representation , For protection, For spiritual warfare (intercession, atonement, judgment).<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; The Armor of God (Eph 6) &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Belt of Truth<\/span>: The priest\u2019s sash (Ex. 28:4, 39\u201340) Girds, prepares, symbolizes readiness and integrity. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Breastplate of Righteousness<\/span>: Breastplate of Judgment with Urim &amp; Thummim (Ex. 28:15\u201330), Carries God\u2019s judgment, righteousness, and decision-making. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shoes of Peace<\/span>: Israel\u2019s feet prepared to walk in God\u2019s ways (Deut. 11:22; Deut. 30:16), Walking in covenant obedience brings peace. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shield of Faith<\/span>: God Himself as Israel\u2019s shield (Gen. 15:1; Deut. 33:29). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Helmet of Salvation<\/span>: High Priest\u2019s gold plate: \u201cHOLINESS TO YHWH\u201d (Ex. 28:36\u201338). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: initial;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sword of the Spirit (Word)<\/span>: The Torah as the divine weapon (Deut. 33:2; Num. 23:23), God\u2019s word as the active force in battle. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: initial;\">The Torah repeatedly uses clothing as a metaphor for: Holiness, Covenant identity, Obedience, and Divine protection. Note that Paul\u2019s metaphor is not Roman armor, it is Torah armor, the garments of the priest and the covenant identity of Israel. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: initial;\"><strong>&#8211; Summary &#8211;<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: initial;\">Torah Foundations of the Armor of God &#8211; The Armor of God is rooted in: The High Priest\u2019s garments (Exodus 28), The Tzitzit reminding Israel of God\u2019s commands (Num. 15), The binding of Torah on hand and forehead (Deut. 6, 11), The holiness laws that protect Israel in battle (Deut. 23), and the identity of God as Israel\u2019s shield and salvation (Deut. 33). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: initial;\">Paul\u2019s innovation is to internalize what the Torah externalizes. The armor becomes spiritual, and its structure is thoroughly Torah-based.
