The Torah doesn\u2019t use that exact word, but it does legislate against strife, contentious speech, and disorderly outcry emphasizing peace, restraint, and respectful communication.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Torah Parallels to \u201cPut Away Clamor\u201d &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Numbers 16:1\u20133, 41\u201350 Korah\u2019s rebellion: the people <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cassembled against Moses and Aaron\u201d<\/em><\/span> with loud protest. The Torah replaces clamor with structured justice.<\/li>\n<li>Numbers 11:1 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cThe people complained in the hearing of the LORD\u2026 and His anger was kindled.\u201d<\/em><\/span> The Torah warns against clamorous grumbling against God.<\/li>\n<li>Exodus 14:10\u201314 The people cry out in fear at the Red Sea; Moses says, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cThe LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.\u201d<\/em><\/span> The Torah teaches us to have trust and silence instead of noisy panic.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Key Observations &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clamor as Rebellion<\/span>: Torah narratives often equate clamorous shouting with rebellion against God or leaders (Korah, Golden Calf, wilderness complaints).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clamor vs. Peace<\/span>: Moses repeatedly instructs Israel to be silent and trust God rather than cry out in panic or protest.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clamor vs. Justice<\/span>: Torah channels disputes into judicial processes (Deut. 25), preventing noisy quarrels from escalating.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clamor as Distrust<\/span>: Complaining and loud grumbling are depicted as faithless acts that provoke divine anger.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Torah frames clamor as chaotic, rebellious, and faithless noise that undermines covenantal order. Instead, it prescribes silence, trust, and orderly justice. Paul\u2019s exhortation in Ephesians 4:31 to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cput away clamor\u201d<\/em><\/span> echoes these truths.
