seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 7:8 \u201cFor everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 7:9 \u201cOr what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? 7:10 \u201cOr if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 7:11 \u201cIf you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! (NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ \">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The text Matthew 7:7-11 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cAsk, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/span> is about persistent, trusting petition to God. While the Torah doesn\u2019t use this exact triad of verbs, it contains strong thematic parallels: God invites us to call upon Him, promises to be found when sought, and responds to those who approach Him faithfully.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; Torah Parallels to \u201cAsk, Seek, Knock\u201d &#8211;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ask \u2192 God Responds<\/span> Exodus 16:4 Israel asks for food in the wilderness; God provides manna daily. Numbers 11:2 When the people cry out because of fire, Moses prays, and God quenches it. Deuteronomy 4:7 This is a direct Torah parallel to the idea that asking brings divine response.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seek \u2192 You Will Find<\/span> Deuteronomy 4:29 \u201cBut from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find Him, if you search after Him with all your heart and soul.\u201d This is the clearest Torah echo of Matthew\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cseek and you shall find.\u201d <\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Knock \u2192 Doors Open<\/span>, while <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cknocking\u201d<\/em><\/span> is metaphorical in Matthew, Torah parallels appear in approaching God\u2019s presence, Exodus 33:7\u201311 Moses enters the Tent of Meeting, and God speaks with him <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cface to face.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Numbers 27:21 Joshua is told to stand before Eleazar the priest to inquire of God. These passages show that when Israel or its leaders&#8217; <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201capproach\u201d<\/em><\/span> (knock), God opens access to His guidance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note the condensed synthesis from the Torah:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ask \u2192 God hears and provides<\/span> (Exod. 16, Num. 11, Deut. 4:7), <br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Seek \u2192 God can be found<\/span> (Deut. 4:29), <br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Knock \u2192 God grants access to His presence<\/span> (Exod. 33, Num. 27).<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 7:7-11 is not introducing a new idea but condensing Torah themes into a memorable sequence. It reflects the covenantal assurance: God is near, responsive, and accessible to those who approach Him sincerely.
