Amen.\u2019 (NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ \">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Matthew 6:9\u201313 Yeshua provides a liturgical prayer known as is the Lord\u2019s Prayer, introduced with <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cAfter this manner therefore pray ye\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/span> This provides a model prayer: reverence for God, desire for His kingdom, request for daily sustenance, forgiveness, and deliverance from evil. The Torah does not contain a set liturgical prayer like this, but it does provide parallels and prototypes for structured prayer. &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Torah Parallels to Matthew 6:9-13<\/span> &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Invocation of God\u2019s Name<\/span> Deuteronomy 32:3 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cFor I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe greatness to our God.\u201d<\/em><\/span> is similar to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cOur Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name,\u201d<\/em><\/span> this verse emphasizes sanctifying God\u2019s name. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Kingdom &amp; Will<\/span> Exodus 19:6 Israel is called to be <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201ca kingdom of priests and a holy nation.\u201d<\/em><\/span> This parallels <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cThy kingdom come, thy will be done.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Deuteronomy 30:8\u201310 we are exhorted to obey God\u2019s commandments wholeheartedly, aligning with His will. Daily Provision Exodus 16:4 note how God provides manna daily in the wilderness. This is the clearest Torah parallel to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cGive us this day our daily bread.\u201d<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Forgiveness<\/span> Exodus 34:6-7 God reveals Himself as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cmerciful and gracious, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin.\u201d<\/em><\/span> This mirrors <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cForgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Numbers 14:19-20 Moses prays, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cPardon the iniquity of this people,\u201d<\/em><\/span> and God forgives, note the parallel. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Deliverance from Evil<\/span> Deuteronomy 30:7 God promises to put curses on Israel\u2019s enemies. Exodus 14:13-14 God delivers Israel from Pharaoh at the Red Sea. These echo the concept of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cDeliver us from evil.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Note how the Lord\u2019s Prayer is not a direct quotation from Torah but a condensed synthesis of Torah themes: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Sanctify God\u2019s name \u2192 Deut. 32:3, Kingdom &amp; will \u2192 Exod. 19:6, Deut. 30:7, Daily bread \u2192 Exod. 16:4 (manna), Forgiveness \u2192 Exod. 34, Num. 14:19-20, Deliverance \u2192 Exod. 14:13-14, Deut. 30:7<\/em><\/span>. In other words, Matthew 6:9\u201313 is a Jewish prayer template, deeply rooted in the Torah\u2019s theology and narrative.
