While the Torah does not use the exact phrasing of Matthew 6:6 or John 16:23-26, the underlying concept of approaching God as a Father who hears and responds, is deeply rooted in the Torah. &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Key Parallels in the Torah to God as Father<\/span> &#8211; Deuteronomy 32:6 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cIs He not your Father, your Creator, who made you and established you?\u201d<\/em><\/span> This verse explicitly identifies God as our Father, establishing the relational framework that Yeshua later echoes in Matthew and John. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Private, Direct Prayer<\/span> Genesis 24:12\u201314 Note how Abraham\u2019s servant prays quietly to God for guidance in finding a wife for Isaac. This is a personal, intimate prayer, not a public ritual, showing that individuals could directly petition God. Note also Exodus 33:11 Moses\u2019 communication with God is portrayed as deeply personal, paralleling the NT emphasis on intimate prayer. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">God Hearing in Secret<\/span> Exodus 2:23\u201325 Even unspoken suffering is heard by God, similar to Matthew 6:6\u2019s assurance that <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cyour Father who sees in secret will reward you.\u201d<\/em><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Petition and Response<\/span> Numbers 11:11\u201315 This resembles John 16:23\u201326, where Yeshua promises that petitions made to the Father will be heard and answered. Note how the Torah establishes the relational model, God as Father, approachable and responsive, which the NT develops into a more explicit teaching on personal prayer. The Torah definitely parallels the NT <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cpray to thy Father\u201d<\/em><\/span> through verses that depict God as Father, emphasize direct and personal prayer, and assure that God hears even unspoken cries. The NT teaching is not a break from Torah but a continuation and intensification of its themes.
