(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ \">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/ <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that the phrase <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cWalk in the Spirit\u201d<\/em><\/span> from Galatians 5:25 is distinctly used by Paul, its conceptual roots are deeply embedded in the Torah. Paul\u2019s exhortation reflects a continuity with Torah themes of walking in alignment with God\u2019s will, though he reframes the mechanism as Spirit-led. Here\u2019s how to understand this &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Walking with God: Torah Foundations<\/span> &#8211; The Torah frequently uses the metaphor of <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201cwalking\u201d<\/span><\/em> to describe covenantal obedience. Genesis 17:1 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cWalk before Me and be blameless\u201d<\/em><\/span> God\u2019s command to Abraham to live in covenant fidelity. Leviticus 26:3,12 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cIf you walk in My statutes\u2026 I will walk among you\u201d<\/em><\/span> Walking in God\u2019s statutes leads to divine fellowship. Deuteronomy 10:12 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cWhat does the LORD require\u2026 but to walk in all His ways\u201d<\/em><\/span> Ethical and spiritual alignment with God\u2019s character. These passages emphasize a life patterned after divine instruction which is what Paul later calls<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em> \u201cfruit of the Spirit.&#8221;<\/em><\/span> &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Spirit and Torah: Paul\u2019s Reframing<\/span> &#8211; Paul\u2019s argument in Galatians 5 is that the Spirit now internalizes and helps us to live out what the Torah commands. See Galatians 5:14, Galatians 5:22\u201323, and Leviticus 19:18. These verses on the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace\u2026) mirrors Torah\u2019s ethics. Paul\u2019s claim is that Spirit-led living fulfills the Torah\u2019s imperatives. Paul sees the Spirit as empowering believers to live out this love, which is the essence of Torah obedience.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em> \u201cWalking in the Spirit\u201d<\/em><\/span> is not a rejection of Torah but an internal transformation enabling us to walk in God\u2019s ways; Paul claims the Spirit enables that walk in a new covenantal context.
