The concept of light as divine protection, moral clarity, and covenantal identity is richly embedded throughout the Torah. Notice the following Torah references. &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Clothing as Spiritual Identity<\/span> &#8211; Genesis 3:21 \u2013 After Adam and Eve\u2019s fall, God clothes them with garments of skin. This act is more than physical; it\u2019s a covering of grace and protection through sacrifice. Exodus 28 The priestly garments are described in detail, symbolizing holiness, authority, and divine service. These garments <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cput on\u201d<\/em><\/span> sacred identity and function. &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Light as Divine Presence and Guidance<\/span> &#8211; Genesis 1:3 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cLet there be light.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Light is the first act of creation, representing divine order and goodness. Exodus 13:21 God leads Israel by a pillar of fire by night, a literal <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u201carmor of light\u201d<\/span><\/em> guiding and protecting them. Numbers 6:25 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cMay the Lord make His face shine upon you\u2026,\u201d<\/em><\/span> a blessing of divine favor and illumination. &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Moral Clarity and Separation from Darkness<\/span> &#8211; Deuteronomy 30:15\u201320 Moses sets before Israel <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201clife and good, death and evil.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Choosing life is akin to walking in light. Leviticus 19 The call to holiness includes ethical living, truthfulness, justice, and love are qualities that align with Paul\u2019s metaphor of light as righteousness. In Romans 13:12, Paul\u2019s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201carmor of light\u201d<\/em><\/span> draws from Jewish idioms of walking in light versus darkness, which are rooted in Torah ethics. The metaphor of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cputting on\u201d<\/em><\/span> righteousness echoes the priestly garments and the call to be a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201ckingdom of priests\u201d<\/em><\/span> (Exodus 19:6). It\u2019s not just about defense, it\u2019s about embodying divine truth in a visible, active way.
