This is how the concept in 1 John 3:7 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cHe who practices righteousness is righteous\u201d<\/em><\/span> finds deep resonance in the Torah. Righteousness Is Proven by Action: Deuteronomy 6:25 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cIt will be righteousness for us if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Leviticus 18:5 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cYou shall therefore keep My statutes\u2026 which if a man does, he shall live by them.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Genesis 15:6 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cAnd he believed the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness.\u201d<\/em><\/span> Righteousness is not a label, it\u2019s a lived reality, grounded in obedience and trust. Do Not Be Misled by False Claims: Deuteronomy 13:1\u20135 Warns against prophets or dreamers who lead people astray, even if they perform signs. Deuteronomy 18:20\u201322 provides the criteria for discerning true vs. false prophets. In Numbers 16:1\u201335 Korah and his followers claim holiness, but their rebellion reveals deception. The Torah repeatedly cautions against spiritual imposters who claim righteousness but act in rebellion. Discernment and Integrity: Deuteronomy 10:12\u201313 calls us to walk in God\u2019s ways, love Him, and serve with sincerity. Exodus 23:1\u20132 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cYou shall not spread a false report\u2026 nor shall you follow a crowd to do evil.\u201d<\/em><\/span> These things speak about how Righteousness requires discernment, not just following appearances or popular opinion. John\u2019s warning against deception aligns with the Torah\u2019s call to discern true righteousness, reject false spiritual claims, and live out covenantal obedience. In both, righteousness is not inherited or claimed, it\u2019s practiced.
