This is deeply embedded in the Torah’s covenantal and prophetic framework. Suffering with Honor for God’s Name: In Exodus 5–6 Moses suffers rejection and hardship from Pharaoh and even his own people, yet God affirms his calling. In Numbers 12:1–8 Moses is vindicated by God when slandered by Miriam and Aaron; God calls him “faithful in all My house.” In Deuteronomy 8:2–5 Israel’s wilderness suffering is framed as divine testing and discipline, not shame. Note how suffering is often a sign of divine refinement, not disgrace. Not Being Ashamed of Covenant Identity: In Deuteronomy 7:6–8 Israel is chosen not because of greatness, but because of God’s love and oath. Exodus 19:5–6 “You shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” This identity is to be embraced, even amid opposition. The Torah calls us to bear a distinct identity with boldness, not embarrassment. Rejoicing in Obedience Despite Hardship: In Leviticus 23 Festivals like Sukkot commemorate hardship (wilderness wandering) with joy and thanksgiving. Deuteronomy 16:11–15 Commands rejoicing during feasts, even after suffering or toil. Note how gratitude and joy are covenantal responses, even in affliction. Peter’s exhortation to not be ashamed but glorify God in suffering echoes the Torah’s call to embrace covenantal identity, endure hardship with faith, and respond with thanksgiving. The Torah doesn’t frame suffering as failure, it frames it as transformation. Remember, this is how Peter and the NT text taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths – Torah Concept in the NT: Let No One be Ashamed to Suffer as a Christian – Episode 575 1 Peter 4:16 וְאִם יִסְבֹּל כִּמְשִׁיחִי, אַל יֵבוֹשׁ כִּי אִם יְכַבֵּד אֶת אֱלֹהִים בַּשֵּׁם הַזֶּה, #torah #torahwisdom #torahtruth #torahforlife #torah4you #torahtruth 1 Peter 4:16 4:16 but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is […]

[48,34

0":"post-23855","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bits-of-torah-truths","8":"category-video
["GET
