While the exact phrase isn\u2019t found in the Torah, the concept is richly embedded in its narrative and theology. Here are some striking parallels: Note Joseph\u2019s Rise to power (Genesis 41), remember how Joseph was sold into slavery and imprisoned, and then was exalted to Pharaoh\u2019s right hand. His story embodies Humiliation \u2192 Exaltation and Faithfulness in trial \u2192 Honor in due time. This is a lived-out version of James 1:9\u2019s principle. Note also Moses\u2019 Humility (Numbers 12:3). Moses\u2019 exalted role as Israel\u2019s leader is directly tied to his humility. God chooses the lowly to lead which is a Torah pattern that James affirms. In Deuteronomy 8:2\u20133 we see the Humbling in the Wilderness where God says He led Israel through the wilderness to: Humble them, Test them, and Teach them dependence on Him. This is growing spiritually through humility, followed by the promise of entering the land, reflects the same pattern of lowly now, exalted later.
