The Torah emphasizes discernment in prophecy and the importance of evaluating spiritual messages, which aligns with 1 Corinthians\u00a014:29. For example, in Deuteronomy\u00a018:21-22 Israel was instructed on how to determine whether a prophet is truly speaking from God. If a prophecy does not come to pass, it is not from the Lord. This reflects the idea of judging prophetic messages. In Numbers\u00a011:24-29 Moses gathers seventy elders, they begin to prophesy. Joshua expresses concern, but Moses responds that he wishes all of God\u2019s people could prophesy. This highlights the importance of multiple voices in prophecy. And according to Deuteronomy 13:1-3 we are warned about false prophets who might lead people astray, reinforcing the need for careful evaluation of prophetic words. These passages demonstrate how prophecy should be tested and judged, much like Paul\u2019s instructions in 1 Corinthians\u00a014:29.
