Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. 14:6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. 14:7 For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; (NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/\u00a0\">https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/category\/bits-of-torah-truths\/\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The concept of keeping the Sabbath is deeply rooted in the Torah, making it one of the most significant commandments given. Unlike the discussions in Romans 14:5-7 and Colossians\u00a02:14-17, which address differing views on observing special days, the Torah presents the Sabbath as a sacred institution commanded by God. One of the clearest parallels is Exodus 20:8-11, where the fourth commandment states, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>&#8220;Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.&#8221;<\/em><\/span> The reasoning given is that God rested on the seventh day after creation, setting a divine precedent for mankind to follow. Additionally, in Deuteronomy\u00a05:12-15, the command is reiterated, but with an added emphasis on remembering Israel\u2019s deliverance from Egypt, tying Sabbath observance to both creation and redemption. We also note the Sabbath day according to Exodus\u00a031:13-17, where God declares the Sabbath as a sign between Him and His people, making it an everlasting covenant. Likewise, Leviticus 23:3 emphasizes that the Sabbath is a day of complete rest dedicated to God, distinct from other appointed feasts. Paul discusses the difficulty of people who have differing calendars in the NT regarding observances. Sometimes arguing is futile, and the most important point is that one is obeying God\u2019s Word.
