In the Torah there are several passages that emphasize preparation, self-sufficiency, and trusting in God&#8217;s provision. For example, in Exodus 12, Israel is commanded to be ready for their departure from Egypt. God instructs them to eat the Passover meal &#8220;with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand&#8221; (Exodus\u00a012:11). This Torah passage underscores readiness for a significant action of God on behalf of His people. In Genesis 22, Abraham embarks on a journey with provisions as he follows God&#8217;s command to sacrifice Isaac. This moment reflects obedience and faith, much like Yeshua\u2019s instruction to his disciples as they prepared for challenges ahead. The Torah often addresses practical preparedness, such as in Deuteronomy 8, where Moses reminds Israel that God sustained them in the wilderness, but they must also be diligent in the Promised Land. What we note here is how the Torah does echo similar themes of preparation and trusting in divine guidance.
