Take for example Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 22, the Akedah. Abraham demonstrates an extraordinary willingness to follow God’s command, even to the point of sacrificing his beloved son. The act of carrying the wood for the offering, which Isaac does in Genesis 22:6, mirrors the imagery of “taking up” a burden as a sign of obedience and submission. This story deeply resonates with the call to take up one’s cross, as it symbolizes a complete surrender to God’s will, even in the face of immense personal cost. Another parallel can be found in Exodus 13:21-22 where the people are called to follow the pillar of cloud and fire, representing God’s presence, despite the difficulties and uncertainties of the journey. Their call to trust in and follow God, even when the path leads through hardship, echoes the commitment Yeshua calls for in “taking up the cross” and following Him. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 calls for total devotion and sacrifice which parallels the spiritual commitment involved in taking up the cross. These parallels show the continuity in the call to wholehearted devotion throughout Scripture. This is how the NT taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths – Torah Concept in the NT: Let Him Take Up Cross – Episode 486 #torah #torahwisdom #torahtruth #torahforlife #torah4you #torahtruth Matthew 16:24 אָז אָמַר יֵשׁוּעַ לְתַלְמִידָיו׃ ״מִי שֶׁרוֹצֶה לָבוֹא אַחֲרַי, שֶׁיִּתְכַּחֵשׁ לְעַצְמוֹ וְיִקַּח אֶת צְלָבוֹ וְיֵלֵךְ אַחֲרַי; Mark 8:34 קָרָא אֵלָיו אֶת הֶהָמוֹן עִם תַּלְמִידָיו וְאָמַר לָהֶם׃ ״מִי שֶׁרוֹצֶה לָבוֹא אַחֲרַי, שֶׁיִּתְכַּחֵשׁ לְעַצְמוֹ וְיִקַּח אֶת צְלָבוֹ וְיֵלֵךְ אַחֲרַי; Mark 10:21 הִבִּיט בּוֹ […]

[48,34

0":"post-23466","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-bits-of-torah-truths","8":"category-video
["GET
