While the Torah emphasizes justice and fairness, it also contains principles that encourage acts of mercy and kindness, even toward those with whom one may be in conflict. For example, in Exodus 23:4\u20135, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>&#8220;If you meet your enemy&#8217;s ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving it; you shall surely help with it.&#8221;<\/em><\/span> This command illustrates the expectation that we act with compassion and assistance, even toward our enemies, fostering reconciliation and demonstrating a higher moral responsibility. Deuteronomy 24:12-13 provides guidance about lending practices. If a lender takes a poor man&#8217;s cloak as collateral for a loan, it must be returned to him by sunset so that he has something to sleep in. This principal highlights prioritizing human dignity and well-being consistent with Matthew 5:40. Leviticus 19:18 reflects the Torah\u2019s broader vision of overcoming enmity through acts of love and forgiveness. This also aligns with Yeshua\u2019s teaching. These Torah passages resonate with Yeshua\u2019s call to transcend strict justice and respond to conflict with grace and selflessness.
