This passage underscores the centrality of love in the covenant relationship with God. The passages from Deuteronomy\u00a010:12-13 combines the concepts of love, fear, service, and obedience, emphasizing that loving God involves following His commandments and walking in His ways. We also note Deuteronomy 11:1 which connects loving God and keeping His commandments indicating that obedience is a tangible expression of love for God. We also read in Deuteronomy\u00a030:16\u00a0&#8220;In that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.&#8221; This passage connects love for God with walking in His ways and keeping His commandments, emphasizing the resulting blessings and life that come from such devotion. These passages from the Torah collectively highlight the importance of maintaining a loving and faithful relationship with God through obedience, service, and walking in His ways. The idea of keeping oneself in God&#8217;s love, as expressed in Jude\u00a01:21, aligns well with the Torah&#8217;s repeated calls for a wholehearted devotion to God.
