(NASB)<\/em>\u00a0 Moshe seeks to have these questions answered of whether the land is fat or lean, are the camps well fortified or open, is the land flowing with milk and honey (<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d6\u05b8\u05d1\u05b7\u05ea \u05d7\u05b8\u05dc\u05b8\u05d1 \u05d5\u05bc\u05d3\u05b0\u05d1\u05b7\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d4\u05b4\u05d5\u05d0<\/span>) and is the land very plentiful?\u00a0 Having sent the men out, the men returned from spying out the land bringing a good report of the land being filled with milk and honey and a bad report of the inhabitants who live in the land (<em>13:32<\/em>).\u00a0 As a result of the bad report, the people wept all night long and grumbled against Moshe and Aaron.\u00a0 Caleb and Joshua stood up before the people and said the land is good and plentiful and filled with milk and honey (<em>14:7-9<\/em>).\u00a0 If the Lord is pleased with us He will give the land to us only do not rebel against the Lord and do not fear the people of the land for they will be our prey (<em>14:7-9<\/em>).\u00a0 The congregation of Israel however wanted to stone Caleb and Joshua (<em>14:10<\/em>).\u00a0 The Lord asks Moshe how long will these people spurn me?\u00a0 Again we find Moshe standing as an intercessor on behalf of the people to spare their lives.\u00a0 Moshe prayed saying <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u05d6\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d5\u05b0\u05e2\u05b7\u05ea\u05b8\u05bc\u05d4 \u05d9\u05b4\u05d2\u05b0\u05d3\u05b7\u05bc\u05dc-\u05e0\u05b8\u05d0 \u05db\u05b9\u05bc\u05d7\u05b7 \u05d0\u05b2\u05d3\u05b9\u05e0\u05b8\u05d9 \u05db\u05b7\u05bc\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05e8 \u05d3\u05b4\u05bc\u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05e8\u05b0\u05ea\u05b8\u05bc \u05dc\u05b5\u05d0\u05de\u05b9\u05e8: \u05d9\u05d7\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b0 \u05d0\u05b7\u05e4\u05b7\u05bc\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05d5\u05b0\u05e8\u05b7\u05d1-\u05d7\u05b6\u05e1\u05b6\u05d3 \u05e0\u05b9\u05e9\u05b5\u05b9\u05d0 \u05e2\u05b8\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05d5\u05b8\u05e4\u05b8\u05e9\u05b7\u05c1\u05e2 \u05d5\u05b0\u05e0\u05b7\u05e7\u05b5\u05bc\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05d9\u05b0\u05e0\u05b7\u05e7\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05e4\u05b9\u05bc\u05e7\u05b5\u05d3 \u05e2\u05b2\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05d0\u05b8\u05d1\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05d1\u05b8\u05bc\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05e9\u05b4\u05c1\u05dc\u05b5\u05bc\u05e9\u05b4\u05c1\u05d9\u05dd \u05d5\u05b0\u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05e8\u05b4\u05d1\u05b5\u05bc\u05e2\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd: \u05d9\u05d8\u00a0\u00a0 \u05e1\u05b0\u05dc\u05b7\u05d7-\u05e0\u05b8\u05d0 \u05dc\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05d4\u05b8\u05e2\u05b8\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05d6\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05db\u05b0\u05bc\u05d2\u05b9\u05d3\u05b6\u05dc \u05d7\u05b7\u05e1\u05b0\u05d3\u05b6\u05bc\u05da\u05b8 \u05d5\u05b0\u05db\u05b7\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05b6\u05c1\u05e8 \u05e0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b8\u05b9\u05d0\u05ea\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b8\u05e2\u05b8\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05d6\u05b6\u05bc\u05d4 \u05de\u05b4\u05de\u05b4\u05bc\u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05d5\u05b0\u05e2\u05b7\u05d3-\u05d4\u05b5\u05e0\u05b8\u05bc\u05d4: \u05db\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05b9\u05bc\u05d0\u05de\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e1\u05b8\u05dc\u05b7\u05d7\u05b0\u05ea\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05db\u05b4\u05bc\u05d3\u05b0\u05d1\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b8:<\/span> <em>14:17 \u2018But now, I pray, let the power of the Lord be great, just as You have declared, 14:18 \u2018The Lord is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.\u00a0 14:19 \u2018Pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.\u2019\u00a0 14:20 So the Lord said, \u2018I have pardoned them according to your word. Their protection has been removed from them, and the Lord is with us; do not fear them.\u2019 (NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this week\u2019s reading Moshe asked twelve men to examine the Promised Land, was it good or bad, the cities are they open or fortified, are there trees, and to bring back some fruit of the land.\u00a0 The men went up to spy out the land and when they return they describe the people who live in Hebron as the Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai the descendents of Anak.\u00a0 The men gave both a good and a bad report; they feared men more than they feared God.\u00a0 King David said in <em>Tehillim \/ Psalms 19<\/em>, <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u00a0 \u05d9\u05b4\u05e8\u05b0\u05d0\u05b7\u05ea \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 | \u05d8\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e2\u05d5\u05b9\u05de\u05b6\u05d3\u05b6\u05ea \u05dc\u05b8\u05e2\u05b7\u05d3 \u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05e4\u05b0\u05bc\u05d8\u05b5\u05d9-\u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b1\u05de\u05b6\u05ea \u05e6\u05b8\u05d3\u05b0\u05e7\u05d5\u05bc \u05d9\u05b7\u05d7\u05b0\u05d3\u05b8\u05bc\u05d5:<\/span>\u00a0 <em>19:9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. (NASB)<\/em>\u00a0 The Aramaic Targum states <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u00a0 \u05d3\u05d7\u05dc\u05ea\u05d0 \u05d3\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4 \u05d3\u05db\u05d9\u05d0 \u05e7\u05d9\u05d9\u05de\u05d0 \u05dc\u05e2\u05dc\u05de\u05d9\u05df \u05dc\u05e2\u05dc\u05dd \u05d3\u05d9\u05e0\u05d9\u05d9\u05d0 \u05d3\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4 \u05d4\u05d9\u05de\u05e0\u05d5\u05ea\u05d0 \u05d6\u05db\u05d9\u05d0\u05d5 \u05d6\u05db\u05d9\u05d9\u05df \u05db\u05d7\u05d3\u05d0\u05c3<\/span> <em>19:10 The fear of the Lord is pure, lasting forever; the judgments of the Lord are faithfulness; they are altogether just. (EMC)<\/em>\u00a0 The rabbis who produced the Targum say that the judgments of God are faithfulness (<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d4\u05d9\u05de\u05e0\u05d5\u05ea\u05d0<\/span>).\u00a0 Studying these verses, when the Lord brings his judgment do we think that He is doing so in faithfulness?\u00a0 What does it mean the judgments of the Lord are faithful?\u00a0 In addition to this, David says that the fear of the Lord and His judgments <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u05d0\u00a0 \u05d4\u05b7\u05e0\u05b6\u05bc\u05d7\u05b1\u05de\u05b8\u05d3\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05de\u05b4\u05d6\u05b8\u05bc\u05d4\u05b8\u05d1 \u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05e4\u05b8\u05bc\u05d6 \u05e8\u05b8\u05d1 \u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b0\u05ea\u05d5\u05bc\u05e7\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05de\u05b4\u05d3\u05b0\u05bc\u05d1\u05b7\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d5\u05b0\u05e0\u05b9\u05e4\u05b6\u05ea \u05e6\u05d5\u05bc\u05e4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd:<\/span>\u00a0 <em>19:10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. (NASB)<\/em>\u00a0 How are the judgments of God desirable and sweeter than honey?\u00a0 Aren\u2019t God\u2019s judgments painful and undesirable?\u00a0 The reason God\u2019s judgments are faithful, desirable as gold, and sweeter than honey is the Lord makes known our faults, so that we repent of our sins and He forgives us.\u00a0 The fear of the Lord keeps our lives in check.\u00a0 On the other hand, to deliberately disobey God is an act of rebellion, and it can and will bring God\u2019s judgment upon us.\u00a0 Studying the scriptures, the Lord does not always chasten His children every time they do something wrong.\u00a0 The Lord is gentle and patient with us.\u00a0 The psalmist said in <em>Tehillim \/ Psalms 103:10<\/em>, <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u00a0\u00a0 \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05db\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05d8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05e2\u05b8\u05e9\u05b8\u05b9\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b8\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d5\u05b0\u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05db\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05d5\u05b9\u05e0\u05b9\u05ea\u05b5\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d2\u05b8\u05bc\u05de\u05b7\u05dc \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b5\u05d9\u05e0\u05d5\u05bc: \u05d9\u05d0\u00a0\u00a0 \u05db\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9 \u05db\u05b4\u05d2\u05b0\u05d1\u05b9\u05d4\u05b7\u05bc \u05e9\u05b8\u05c1\u05de\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u05e5 \u05d2\u05b8\u05bc\u05d1\u05b7\u05e8 \u05d7\u05b7\u05e1\u05b0\u05d3\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9 \u05e2\u05b7\u05dc-\u05d9\u05b0\u05e8\u05b5\u05d0\u05b8\u05d9\u05d5:<\/span> <em>\u201cHe has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.
