The instruction to &#8220;rule over it&#8221; aligns with the NT exhortation to not give the devil a foothold, emphasizing personal responsibility in resisting evil. Another parallel can be drawn out from Deuteronomy\u00a030:19\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>&#8220;I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live.&#8221;<\/em><\/span> This verse underscores the importance of making righteous choices and avoiding paths that lead to spiritual death, which can be seen as giving no place to evil influences. These verses from the Torah reinforce the principle of actively resisting sin and making conscious decisions to pursue righteousness, which resonates with the message in Ephesians\u00a04:27.
