The Torah emphasizes various ways in which God\u2019s people are to dedicate their possessions, time, and lives to God. For example, Leviticus 1:1-3 the entire system of offerings and sacrifices detailed in Leviticus emphasizes giving to God as an act of worship, atonement, and dedication. In Leviticus\u00a027:30\u00a0we are told tithing was a way for God\u2019s people to dedicate a portion of their produce and earnings to God, acknowledging His provision and sovereignty. Firstfruits also speak to this in Deuteronomy 26:1-2 where the offering of firstfruits was a practice that demonstrated gratitude and honor to God by giving the first and best of the harvest. The dedication of the Firstborn in Exodus 13:1-2 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>&#8220;And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.&#8221;<\/em><\/span> The dedication of the firstborn to God symbolized the Israelites&#8217; acknowledgment that all life comes from Him and belongs to Him. Honoring God (Deuteronomy 6:5) also encompasses the idea of giving one&#8217;s entire self to God, including actions, thoughts, and possessions, as an expression of total devotion. These passages from the Torah align with the teaching in Colossians\u00a03:17\u00a0and Revelation 14:7. Both the Torah and the NT emphasize the importance of dedicating one&#8217;s resources, time, and life to God as an act of worship and reverence.
