Leviticus 19:9-10 instructs landowners to leave a portion of their harvest for the poor and the stranger, ensuring that those in need have access to food. In Deuteronomy 15:7-8 we read about the emphasis on the importance of being generous and open-handed towards those in need, encouraging the provision of sufficient help without hesitation. In Deuteronomy\u00a015:10-11, we read about the importance of giving being done willingly and cheerfully, with the assurance of God&#8217;s blessing in return. These verses acknowledge the ongoing presence of poverty and the perpetual need for generosity and support within the community. These passages from the Torah align with Paul\u2019s teaching in Romans\u00a012:13, which encourages believers to share with those in need and practice hospitality.
