One key verse from Deuteronomy that closely aligns with this concept. Deuteronomy 16:20 “That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” This verse emphasizes the pursuit of justice and righteousness as central to living a life pleasing to God and inheriting His promises. The Hebrew word for “justice” (mishpat) or “righteousness“ (Tzedek) signifies fairness, justice, and moral integrity. In the broader context of the Torah, following righteousness involves adhering to God’s commandments, living justly, and treating others with fairness and compassion. Such as what we read in Genesis 18:19 “For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.” Here, God speaks of Abraham’s commitment to teaching his descendants to follow the way of the Lord by doing justice and judgment. In addition, Leviticus 19:15 instructs the Israelites to practice righteousness in their judgments, highlighting fairness and impartiality. These verses collectively illustrate the importance of pursuing righteousness and justice, which is a consistent theme throughout both the Torah and the NT. This is how Paul taught Torah, the Torah has not passed away.

Bits of Torah Truths – Torah Concept in the NT: Follow Righteousness – Episode 406 #torah #torahwisdom #torahtruth #torahforlife #torah4you #torahtruth 1 Timothy 6:11 6:11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.
