For example, Choosing Good and Rejecting Evil (Deuteronomy 30:15-16). These passages emphasize the importance of choosing life and what is good by following God’s commandments. We are commanded to do Justice, Mercy, and be Humble (Deuteronomy 10:12-13). These verses call us to follow God’s ways, which includes doing what is good. We are told to Pursue Righteousness and Justice (Deuteronomy 16:20). This passage underscores the importance of pursuing justice and righteousness, which are considered good in God’s sight. We are told to Love God and Neighbor (Leviticus 19:18). Note that the commandment to love your neighbor as yourself is a core principle of doing good. These Torah passages emphasize the importance of following what is good by adhering to God’s commandments, pursuing justice, and showing love and mercy to others. These principles align with the NT teachings and reflect the consistent biblical call to live a life marked by goodness and righteousness.
