If they have called the head of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign the members of his household! (NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Luke 12:4 <br><\/strong>12:4 \u201cI say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. (NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several parallels in the Torah that reflect the concept of not fearing man, which align with the teachings found in Matthew\u00a010:28\u00a0and Luke 12:4. For example, in Genesis 14, Abraham (then Abram) courageously rescued his nephew Lot from a coalition of kings. Despite the potential danger, Abraham does not fear these powerful human rulers but trusts in God\u2019s protection and guidance. According to Exodus\u00a014:13, when the Israelites are trapped between Pharaoh\u2019s army and the Red Sea, Moses tells the people, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cDo not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today.\u201d<\/em><\/span> This exemplifies the idea of not fearing human threats and instead trusting in God&#8217;s deliverance. Note also Shiphrah and Puah, the Hebrew midwives in Exodus\u00a01:15-21, defied Pharaoh&#8217;s orders to kill Hebrew male infants because they feared God more than they feared the king. Their actions demonstrate faith and courage in the face of human authority when it contradicts God&#8217;s will. This theme is echoed in the NT, where Yeshua and other writers encourage believers to prioritize their fear of God over the fear of humans. (Matthew\u00a010:28, Luke 12:4) These teachings collectively underscore the importance of maintaining faith and courage, trusting in God\u2019s sovereignty and power over any human threats.
