(NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of setting an example for others to follow, as Paul suggests in Philippians 4:9. For example, in Deuteronomy 4:9 “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” This verse emphasizes the importance of remembering and teaching the experiences and commandments witnessed, much like Paul is urging the Philippians to follow his example. We read in Exodus 18:20 “Teach them his decrees and instructions, and show them the way they are to live and how they are to behave.” This instruction from Moses highlights the importance of setting an example in teaching and behavior. Numbers 27:17 also says, “To go out before them and come in before them, one who will lead them out and bring them in, so the Lord’s people will not be like sheep without a shepherd.” This speaks to the role of a leader, showing the way and leading by example. These parallels show the consistent biblical theme of leading by example and teaching others through one’s actions and experiences, reinforcing the idea of living in a way that others can emulate. This is how Paul taught Torah.

https://www.matsati.com/index.php/category/bits-of-torah-truths/

Bits of Torah Truths – Torah Concept in the NT: Follow the Good Example – Episode 375 #torah #torahwisdom #torahtruth #torahforlife #torah4you #torahtruth Philippians 4:9 ט הַדְּבָרִים אֲשֶׁר לְמַדְתֶּם וְקִבַּלְתֶּם וּשְׁמַעְתֶּם מִמֶּנִּי, וַאֲשֶׁר רְאִיתֶם בִּי –– אוֹתָם עֲשׂוּ; וֵאלֹהֵי הַשָּׁלוֹם יִהְיֶה עִמָּכֶם.
