(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Torah, Numbers\u00a011:29\u00a0offers an interesting parallel to Paul\u2019s words <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cCovet To Prophesy.\u201d<\/em><\/span> (1 Corinthians\u00a014:39). In the book of Numbers, Moses responds to Joshua\u2019s concern about others prophesying, saying, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cI wish that all the Lord\u2019s people were prophets and that the Lord would put his Spirit on them!\u201d<\/em><\/span> This expresses a desire for widespread prophecy and divine inspiration among God\u2019s people, aligning with the NT concept of earnestly desiring the gift of prophecy. This desire for more people to be able to prophesy underscores the value placed on prophecy as a means of communicating God\u2019s will and guidance. It&#8217;s about wanting to see God&#8217;s Spirit move powerfully among the community.
